Disclosure Statement and Principles of Conduct
At Zensurance, we work hard to find you the best coverage at a competitive price. Zensurance is a brokerage that believes in a simple and transparent process for our clients. Because of this, we would like to disclose how our brokerage gets compensated by you, our client.
Brokerage compensation is part of your insurance premium. For your benefit, we have listed the insurers that we represent and have included the range of compensation we receive for each line of business.
Zensurance is an affiliate of The Travelers Companies Inc. The Dominion of Canada General Insurance Company, St. Paul Fire and Marine Insurance Company (Canada Branch) and Travelers Insurance Company of Canada, which are the Canadian licensed insurers known as Travelers Canada, and are affiliated with The Travelers Companies, Inc.
We receive a commission from the insurance providers we work with. The ranges of commissions we receive are indicated below. A client fee may be negotiated for placement of insurance coverage for certain products and services. All fees will be outlined to the client prior to the placement of the policy.
In addition to commission, in certain circumstances, we may earn additional compensation (e.g. a fixed percentage of premiums or a transaction fee) for performing services such as underwriting, data input, and administration on behalf of the insurance company. Insurance companies will occasionally offer incentives to individual brokers, such as contest entries, trips and other forms of hospitality. Our brokers are committed to providing objective advice to our customers and acting in their best interests notwithstanding the receipt of any of these incentives.
Some insurers may also pay us a contingent profit commission, which is principally dependent on a combination of one or more of the following factors: growth, profitability, volume, and retention of our entire portfolio of business with that insurer (and not on individual policies). For more detailed information on such contingent profit commission, please refer to the individual insurer’s website. Such contingent profit commission is not guaranteed.
Zensurance adheres to the Principles of Conduct outlined by the Canadian Insurance Services Regulatory Organization (CISRO).
If you have any additional questions regarding the compensation structure of Zensurance or if you would like to receive specific details about the commission structure of your policy, please don’t hesitate to contact us at 1-888-654-6030.
